Two different things get sold as "LED shower heads", and they are worth separating before specifying:

Water-powered heads generate their own light from the flow through a small turbine. They need no wiring, and are typically small retail shower heads. Colour is usually tied to water temperature, and the light only works while water is running.

Powered systems — which is what YUWANG makes — run the LEDs from a low-voltage supply in the ceiling void. The lighting is independent of flow and temperature, can be selected and held, and needs the electrical provision to be planned with the ceiling.

For a hotel project the second type is normally the relevant one, because the lighting is part of the bathroom design rather than a by-product of the water flow.

Most models in the range carry ambient lighting in the top spray.

How the lighting gets used tends to differ by space:

• Guest rooms — a single restrained setting that suits the room's lighting scheme, rather than colour cycling
• Suites — where the bathroom is part of what the rate is paying for, the lighting is more often treated as a feature
• Spa and bathing areas — longer dwell time, lower ambient light, and the lighting is usually specified alongside the rest of the wellness area

Supply. The system runs on DC 12 V at the unit, from a driver installed in the ceiling void.

What has to be settled before the ceiling closes:

• Where the driver sits, and whether it can be reached for service
• Cable routes, cable specification and permitted lengths for power and control — confirmed in the model-specific wiring arrangement
• The control position on the wall, and whether it is inside or outside the wet zone
• Electrical provision and compliance for the destination market, which your electrical consultant confirms against local regulations
