Ceiling Shower Heads and Recessed Shower Systems

You will see the same product called several things: ceiling shower head, recessed shower head, flush mount shower head, concealed shower system, ceiling mounted rain shower system. They all describe the same arrangement — the shower head is set into the ceiling instead of hanging from an arm or a riser.

Every YUWANG system is this type. We do not make wall-mounted or exposed systems.

A set is always three parts:

Valve connections are 1/2G and 3/4G only — G (BSP) parallel thread. Adapters to other thread standards are not supplied, so confirm the connection against your plumbing design early.

All dimensions are in millimetres. Where inches appear elsewhere on this site they are converted values, marked approx.

Lighting. Most models carry ambient lighting in the top spray, driven by an optical controller with an effective transmission distance of 20 m. The catalogue states that tens of thousands of ambient lighting settings are adjustable. → LED shower systems

Music. Selected models — the music series — have Bluetooth audio built into the top spray. Models not marked as music series do not include it. → Music shower systems

Controls. The 8-key controller is standard. A wireless wall panel, a wired wall panel and Wi-Fi app lighting control are paid upgrades, listed separately on the quotation. → Smart lighting and temperature controls

Standard in every set: ceiling top spray, concealed valve, hand shower.

Paid options, on compatible models only:

• Control upgrades — wireless wall panel, wired wall panel, or Wi-Fi app lighting control

Options change the price, the lead time and the installation drawings, so they have to be agreed before drawings are confirmed.

The range is organised into series families, each available in one or more size groups, and each with its own combination of water functions — rain, waterfall, rain curtain and others.

Does it have to be installed during construction? Effectively yes. The top spray sits in the ceiling void and the valve is behind the wall, so reserved openings and pipe runs have to be set before the ceiling is closed. Retrofitting into a finished ceiling is not practical.

What is the trade-off against an exposed system? A recessed system keeps the ceiling clean and puts nothing on the wall except the control. In exchange, it has to be planned earlier, and servicing needs ceiling access.

What has to be confirmed before drawings? The ceiling void, the reserved opening, the control position and the pipe layout. These follow from the model and configuration, so we issue drawings per project rather than publishing generic dimensions.
